Luckily, well, unluckily in Harley's case, a certain superhero had been in the audience. Virgil Hawkins had quickly ducked out and minutes later Static appears.
"Now I know you didn't get time off for good behavior Harley."
She looked up, huh, flying kid on a disk, "Look here sparky, you want to be part of this show? You gotta work for it!" He's sparking, sparks generally don't like water. Answer: Dive for the fire hose, Harley. DIVE WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT.
Which she did. Ahh, she knew she hadn't slept her way through all of college for nothing!
Yeah, but Static knows his powers don't mix well with water. And he has a few tricks up his sleeve for preventing that mix. Like blocking the stream of water coming from the hose with the bottom of his disk.
"Oh please lady. I've gone up against the green haired psycho himself. Anything you've got is old hat.""
"You've fought Mistah J?" Harley's tone was almost disbelief. Why would he waste his time with a kid he could just shoot? Oh well, maybe he was in a mood that day.
"Then you should know, I ain't him!" she flipped and stuff in that direction, yeah, she wasn't going to shoot right at him, it was all about getting a good shot, and maybe even - squeak - using the trapeze bars!
"I'm more than just a moll! And what are you, the force that makes all socks stick together?" Harley said, barely flipping out of the way, but you could feel that hair raising, sock sticking energy.
