She's having water. alcohol is a plant toxin and therefore does nothing to her. Besides, she will always be under control of her circumstances forever more no matter what.
"Did you hear what happened to Harvey?" she the other two with a flick of her hair.
Harley drank what she always drank. Pop. Caffeinated. Not that she needed the extra energy or anything. But the buzz was good. Sometimes it came with the little crazy straws. Her collection at whatever passed for home this week was getting big. And colorful.
"No. I don't know. What happened?" Harley chimed in, leaning over on Ivy's shoulder. She was so horribly out of touch.
"Batman." She moves her finger around the glasses edge. "Oh, he tried to be Dent again. Did a good job too. Managed to get Thorne to confess to every little thing under the sun." Sip. "I guess HE didn't like to competition, so back to Arkham."
Crane moves quietly behind Harley, leaning over her shoulder.
"Close your eyes and imagine it, Ms. Quinn. The old, caliginous manor house, rotting away... and hearing the Batman somewhere in the shadows, tracking you down..."
A withering look is shot to Crane. "He was holding up fairly well. Or at least he wasn't trying to grope me which mean Harvey was driving." They all know well enough to have seen some clues. "But Two-Face came back after the Clown had a day with him." Her voice is like frostbite.
Harley shuddered at Crane's voice, she couldn't help it. He was so... so.. .creepy! "Eww, don't do that! That'd be horrible!"
She did sigh longingly at the mention of 'The Clown' though. "Well, it's not all bad, is it? Or is it all bad? Two-Face really needs... I don't know, a phantom of the opera mask maybe."
"To get so close to never going back and yet return, again, and again?" she shrugs. "Fascinating, yes. What did you make of all those posters around town. the 'I Believe in Harvey Dent,' ones?"
"Wow," Harley breathed. You were out of it, in a cell, for a bit and you missed so much. But at least her cell had bunnies. And clowns.
"He really needs therapy, doesn't he? Harvey, Two-Face, whatever. I mean, multiple personalities are totally misunderstood and he's just going to be beat on in Arkham or beat on people and not take his meds..."
"His new face would terrify you," Crane smiles. "Joker peeled off the skin on exactly half the face. Slowly."
He glances at Harley. "He said something about needing to do something similar to the love of his life if she doesn't go home soon, but I don't have any idea who he might be talking about..."
Harley squeaked and choked on her drink, "He said that? Why would he say that? Pammy, why did he say that?" Oh, she did NOT want to go home to that. But not going home would make it worse. Suddenly she just hugged Ivy, hard.
"Pammy won't let him take my face off!" She loved Mistah J, but he could be so... scary sometimes when he was mad. "He just needs time to cool off..."
She's so hung up on that she can't even picture Bats with half a face.
Crane smirks. "What I do, I do for science, Edward. They simply can't accept the radical steps I take for the advancement of human understanding," he sniffs. "The rest of you are the obsessed ones. Crazy. I'm merely a misunderstood visionary."
He rolls his eyes. "Disgrased Japanese businessman indeed. What does that even mean?"
"Yes, but you always go after the most obvious targets." she sniffs and takes a drink. "Please, Crane. If you're that good give me a challenge." She leans in a little. "I'll bet you cannot scare the Clown."
Harley let go of Ivy after a minute, "And I am totally not going to give you your fear-on," she said to Crane looking down at her drink, thinking of Mistah J.
And the last time she had run off and come back. She was so staying with Pammy tonight. "No one can scare Mistah J... he's perfect."
Crane smiles. "Who's to say I haven't scared him?" The grin fades. "However, the Joker is so insane as to make traditional measurements of fear completely impractical in terms of recording his reactions. It is quite rare indeed for his reactions to fear to be completely normal... and those few times I have seen it, it has involved the Bat."
He represses a small internal shudder.
"Why, judging from his reactions, you wouldn't think him even slightly frightened by the idea of his 'true love' getting carved into pieces by a scythe."
All Crane's talk of 'skin peeling' and 'scythe cutting' made Harley uncomfortable. So, the Riddler's statement earned him a big, friendly smile. "Thank you! Yeah, what he said," she said making a face at Crane.
"So you don't talk to me like you're one of my old teachers or something."

"The truly sad part is how close to rehabilitation he'd come. Dent had Two-Face scared."

Says the man in the question-mark jacket.
"Poor Harvey. Just like a disgraced Japanese businessman.."

"You're being rude, Dr. Crane. Harleen's one of us, you shouldn't be practicing your Lecter routine on her."
