Working with Scarecrow during the Plague has been delightful. She so wishes it had lasted. She hopes it killed some of those supposed heroes. At least the disease experrts are estimating that it may have removed up to 150 million piece of meat from the surface of the good green world. Ivy and her partner had removed at least 50 more in that time. His obsession with fear was interesting enough - and effective. He wasn't as stupid of a male as most of them. Toxicology research with him could prove fascinating. She even considered briefly him becoming the new host for her beloved. She rejected it. Too skinny and pale. Too useful on his own merits. Not enough justice to be had. No, the host was going to be one of those pathetic male "heroes." One of the Batman's brood or one of Titans. He deserved such a healthy specimen and it would be fun watching some costumed mind bleeding away while he grew strong and lovely on the inside.

The forces of so called law and order were returning, forcing Ivy and Scarecrow to one of those summer cabins in the woods. He had said he wanted to talk. About himself likely. Didn't most men? Well, here she was.

"I must admit, Ivy, I am surprised to see your hatred for the Batman shifted," he says simply.

"Why do you think it has?" She looked at him confused and angry. "I still hate him as much as ever. He kills my children....lords over still a willing tool of patriarchal influence in the minds of others. A "shift," Dr. Crane, has not happened. I merely hate others for other reasons."

He nods. "Still, you seem fascinated with the idea of entering the Watchtower. Tell me... what is your motive? What do you seek to accomplish there? The murder of their number in their supposedly 'safe' home?"

She waves a hand. "Oh, I'm sure the rumour mill being what it is you'll figure it out, so I'll spare you the trouble." A slightly disgusted sigh. "Did you miss the one where I was supposed to be sleeping with the Flash for almost a year?"

"Ah, yes. Most of Arkham was abuzz with that rumor. Honestly, I pay little attention to that sort of thing."

She makes a small. "Mmm..." sound, like she really doesn't believe him. "Anyway, it's not exactly true, nor exactly false. During one of the normal 'might makes right,' encounters we have with them I was growing another creation. A mind control experiment that I had thought failed." There's an excitement response. "Instead it worked a miracle. Growing sentience. Life..."

"Indeed?" Scarecrow seems genuinely interested in Ivy's story.

"Yes," She grows more clinical. "A sentient organism - a symbiote that slowly grew and set its will and agenda in place of the Flash's own." The voice becomes more loving. "With a desire to please me and help with my work. I should have suspected all along, of course, but it was only able to truly manifest itself in the end stages of integration."

The voice takes the tone of a winter frost. "A process interupted near the harvest by the Flash's old teammate, Nightwing. The JLA now have my beloved, Scarecrow. I want him back - and a proper host."

"A mind-controlling organism, being held by the League?" Scarecrow smiles. "Well... let me see what I can arrange." He smiles at her under his mask, the cords binding the masks' "mouth" shut just loose enough to reveal a grin underneath. "If you will excuse me, Doctor..."
